Tipser Cookies

Cookies are a vital part of making sure that our product functions in the intended manner. We have two types of cookies anonymous and consent based.

Anonymous Cookies

These cookies are always set, as they are completely anonymous, i.e. they cannot be used to identify a user, and are needed to make the system work.




AWS Load balancer use


The __cfduid cookie is used to identify individual clients behind a shared IP address and apply security settings on a per-client basis. For example, if the visitor is in a coffee shop where there are a bunch of infected machines, but the specific visitor's machine is trusted (e.g. because they've completed a challenge within your Challenge Passage period), the cookie allows us to identify that client and not challenge them again. It does not correspond to any user ID in your web application, and does not store any personally identifiable information.

GA generates unique id for each user and helps Tipser improve user experience.

Cookies set after consent

These cookies are only set after a user has agreed to receive cookies from Tipser (Tipser Cookie Consent)





The user has explicitly agreed to receive cookies. Valid for 1 year


tipserToken, tipserTokenAnonymous

This cookies is used to manage logged user session, store user id and cart id. This remains
persistent so the user can keep their session and cart in between browser sessions.

Both User id and cart id are uniquely generated (encoded in the token) and can be used to identify the user.

It allows to add items to the cart and browse cart contents, edit user profile and perform other actions in the context of logged in user. In other words, the core Tipser functionality depends on those cookies.
If the cookie would be removed the user will lose their cart and get logged out.



Used to indicate that user accepted cookie consent from the widget page and other cookies that Tipser requires can be stored in the browser?



Used to store the number of items in the cart


analyticsSessionId or tipserAnalyticsSessionId

unique user identifier for Whisperer (the value of “cookie” field) and Pluto. A unique id is generated for each user.



Remembers if the user accepted cookies
